Recent progress in fixation of carbon dioxide by microalgae

With the Kyoto Protocol entering into force,the emission reduction levels of greenhouse gas,especially carbon dioxide,has attracted more and more important attention from governments and enterprises globally.It becomes a hot topic in environmental research fields.The recent progress in carbon dioxide fixation by microalgae is reviewed in this paper.The following research fields,such as screening and breeding of microalgae with high capability of carbon dioxide fixation,the mechanism of carbon dioxide fixation by microalgae,the process development of carbon dioxide fixation by microalgae,and the comprehensive utilization of microalgae after carbon dioxide fixation done,are discussed respectively.
