Clinical study of kidney transplantation in polycystic kidney patients without removing the original kidneys

Objective:To study the special characteristics of kidney transplantation in the polycystic kidney patients and to explore the feasibility of renal transplantation without removing original kidney and to investigate its influence on the graft.Methods:The clinical results of 20 cases of polycystic kidney receiving kidney transplantation were reanalyzed. The oldest was 65 years and the youngest 29 years,with the average age 52.8 years;and the dialysis lasting 3～48 months. The original kidneys were not removed before and during transplantation in 18 cases. After operation, the size and haematuria of the graft were observed.Active antiinfection was adopted out.Results:One?three and five year survival rate was 95.0%,89.2% and 75.5%,respectively,the acute rejection incidence was 10.0%. The grafts were all with good function thouth 3 cases died with good renal function after kidney transplantation. After transplantation, the original kidneys become smaller and haematuria gradually disappeared.Conclusion:It was feasible that the polycystic kidney patients receive renal transplantation without removing original kidney, the satisfactory clinical results can be obtained.
