Effect of Impurities on the Working Performance of Phosphogypsum

The deleterious effects of impurities in phosphogypsum have limited its application greatly.The dehydration temperature of phosphogypsum is lower than natural gypsum due to the presence of impurities,thus it may dehydrate to hemihydrate gypsum during the mill when it's used as cement retarder.The microstructure and physical properties of phosphogypsum plaster are quite different from the natural gypsum plaster as well.Shortages of treatments of phosphogypsum are analyzed for the research aspects in further investigation.
