Composition of Polysaccharides from Leaves of Ilex kudincha C.J.Tseng

The composition and the relative content of the polysaccharide from the leaves of Ilex kudincha C.J.Tseng(KPSⅡ) were analyzed by gas chromatography(GC).KPSⅡ and normal monosaccharides were hydrolyzed by a 2 mol/L H2SO4 .The hydrolyzates were deoxidized with NaBH4,then acetylated with Ac2O.The consequent acetate derivatives were analyzed by GC.The results showed that the monosaccharides in KPSⅡ contained arabinose,xylose,mannose,galactose and glucose in molar ratio of 10.2∶1.0∶1.2∶8.0∶5.4 respectively.
