Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)coinfection with hepatitis C virus(HCV)are very common because of their similar transmission routes;for example, they can be more efficiently spreaded through sexual contacting, injection drug user(IDU),and exposuring to contaminated blood or blood products. These viruses might change the biological behavior of each other which leads to the complication of clinical trait and makes more difficult to cure the coinfected patients. This review will give a detailed introduction of the epidemiology of HIV/HCV coinfection, characteristics of each virus and their interactions, and strategies for treatment as well.
