ChemInform Abstract: Reaction of Phosphorus Pentachloride with Perhalocarbonyl‐Containing Compounds.

Abstract The polyfluorinated ketones (III) or diketones (VI), prepared by coupling the esters (II) or diesters (V) with the perfluoroalkyl iodides (I) or (IV) in the presence of methyllithium, are heated with phosphorus pentachloride to form the chlorinated products (VII) ‐ (IX).
