Application of moxifloxacin in thorough QT study and its characters of QT effect

Moxifloxacin is a new hroad-speetrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for treatment of respiratory infections.Because it can reliably prolong the QT interval with little effect on heart rate and cause milder arrhythmia and fewer adverse reactions compared with other drugs that prolong QT,it is most commonly used as active control in thorough QT(TQT) studies.This paper presented the role of moxifloxacin in TQT study and its characters of QT effect,which will give valuable information for the design and result analysis of TQT studies.
