Effects of cryopreservation methods and cryoprotectants on the developmental capacity of goat oocytes

The effects of different cryopreservation methods and cryoprotectants on the developmental capacity of frozen-thawed goat oocytes were compared.The results indicate that the effects of open pulled straw(OPS) vitrification is better than those of conventional vitrification and conventional freezing methods.The effects of cryoprotection to oocytes using 20% ethylene glycol and 20% dimethylsulphoxide is better than EDFS40 in OPS vitrification;but we got the contrary result in the conventional vitrification method.From the angle of conventional freezing method we can see that the cryoprotection in 1.5 mol/L ethylene glycol is better than in 1.5 mol/L 1,2-propanediol.
