Abstract The influence of a methyl group in the different positions of a C4 chain on the stereochemistry of the intramolecular hetero‐Diels‐Alder reaction of oxadienes is studied in detail using the parent species (III), as model compound, and the methyl derivatives (VII) and (VIII).
