Validity of semiclassical treatment of optical nonlinearity

Semiclassical and cavity-QED treatments of optical nonlinearity are compared with each other for a two-level system embedded in a cavity. The semiclassical treatment leads to qualitative incorrectness even if applied field is coherent.
