Holographic recording of 3-D flow configurations for particle image velocimetry (PIV)

Flow diagnostics by particle image velocimetry (PIV) is extended to the investigation of 3-D flow configurations by intermediate holographic recording. Controlled coherence conditions allow the separate evaluation of adjoining layers in depth of the flow field without any disturbing cross-talk.
