Chromones and Flavones. Part IV Chloromethylation of Some Chromones and Flavones

Flavone and 2-methylehrnmone on chloromethylation afford the 3-chloromethyl derivatives. 7-Methory-­2-methylehromone and 7- methoxyflavore afford similarly the 8-chlarnmethyl- and the 3,8-diehlommethyl derivatives. The structures have been proved by reduction to the corresponding methyl derivatives which have been compared with the authentic specimens.
