Multifunctional optoelectronic logic gates via bipolar photoresponse of a single ZnO@Sb 2 Se 3 photoelectrochemical-type photodetector

heterojunction photoelectrochemical-type photodetector (PEC-PD) spanning the UV to near-infrared wavelength range. Four representative logic gates ("NOT", "OR", "XOR", and "NAND") are demonstrated with only a single PEC-PD via the photocurrent polarity control. For practical applications, we establish a secure optical communication system via XOR gate and achieve successful image information transmission. This work paves a new way for the development of multifunctional optoelectronic devices in future technological advancements.
