A visible light promoted cascade cyclization reaction via a PCET process: easy access to indolinone-fused polycycles

Indolinone-fused polycycles were rapidly synthesized via a PCET process under Brønsted base- and transition metal-free conditions, forming C–N and C–C bonds in one pot with atom utilization up to 98%, and produced water as the sole by-product.
