Economic Comparison of Centralized and Decentralized Wastewater Reclamation and Reuse Systems

Based on the cost function of constructing centralized and decentralized wastewater reclamation and reuse projects,a critical distance model was developed.The model provides a simple way of deciding economic criterion between centralized and decentralized wastewater reclamation and reuse facilities and estimating sites of reclamation water plants in given areas scientifically,reasonably and economically.In addition,the planning of reclamation water plants was analyzed by this method.The result indicates that the manner of centralized treatment reuse will be advised taking centralized wastewater reclamation and reuse plants as center within a radius of 5 km.The manner of decentralized treatment reuse can be used outside the scope,and decentralized reuse water demand will achieve 1.25×104 m3/d in research regions.
