High nitrogen Fe-Cr-V alloys was melted in a vacuum/pressurized induction furnace using high purity nitrogen gas as the source of nitrogen. The relationships between nitrogen solubility and nitrogen pressure, contents of Cr and V were investigated. The dissolution of nitrogen in Fe-Cr-V alloys obeys the Sievert′s law.Nitrogen solubility increases with the increase of concentration of Cr and V.The deoxidation experiments were carried out using Al or Fe-Al alloy with top slags. The oxygen content in an Fe-20Cr-1.93V alloys can be decreased to 0.007 2% by using Fe-Al alloy with CaF2-CaO-Al2O3 top slags in 40 min.
