Probing fluctuations in sulfur dioxide and viscosity levels during mitochondrial dysfunction using a dual-response fluorescent probe with good water solubility

A dual-response fluorescent probe (MBI) was developed for the detection of SO 2 and viscosity. Probe MBI was successfully applied to image SO 2 and viscosity during mitochondrial dysfunction and cell apoptosis with good performance.
