Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum morifolium), which are widely cultivated for decorative purposes, are an important- horticultural crop in the global floral industry with not only economic but also cultural significance. As chrysanthemums are an industrial crop, the ongoing development of associated breeding and post-harvest practices, such as those aimed at mitigating pest infestations, post-harvest losses, and the environmental impacts of conventional practices should be addressed. This review highlights the exiting literature on chrysanthemums, mainly focusing on eco-friendly breeding techniques, innovative postharvest management strategies, and advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-based pest detection and control methods. The integration of innovative technologies and sustainable practices enables the development of protocols to enhance productivity while reducing the economic and environmental risks associated with the production of chrysanthemum crops.
