Acute pain-management guidelines formed

The first set of practice guidelines on pediatric acute pain management were developed and are currently available from the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR). The guidelines for Acute Pain Management in Infants, Children, and Adolescents: Operative and Medical Procedures, provide pediatricians with a working reference to a variety of techniques for the assessment and treatment of pain in children.
