Analysis of induction machine slot harmonics in the TF domain

A method for measuring the rotor speed, in AC machines, is based on sensing the rotor slot harmonics. Current implementations of this technique can give a good measurement of rotor speed only for steady state conditions. This paper examines the use of Time-Frequency distributions to analyze the behaviour of rotor slot harmonics, during transient state.
