Compared with conventional pulse radar, the clutter signal model of LFM (Linear Frequency Modulated) pulse compression radar has its particularity due to the superposition effect. Compared with ground radar, the clutter model of airborne radar is more complex because of the difference of Doppler frequency of each clutter unit caused by the motion of airborne radar. In view of the characteristics of LFM pulse compression signal and airborne radar, a clutter model of LFM pulse compression signal applied to airborne radar is proposed, and the statistical characteristics of clutter before and after pulse compression are simulated and analyzed. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the new model.
