Notes taxonomiques sur quelques Saprinus d'Afrique du Nord et description de S. gilviqueti n. sp. [Coleoptera, Histeridae, Saprininae]

Taxonomic notes on some Saprinus from North Africa, with the description of S. gilviqueti sp. n. (Coleoptera: Histeridae: Saprininae). Lectotypes are designated for S. aegyptiacus Marseul, 1855, S. apteli Chobaut, 1922, S.buqueti Marseul, 1855 and S. solskyi Reiche, 1861. The latter is considered as a synonym of the former. Illustrations and additions to descriptions are provided for these taxa, and for S. gilvicomis Erichson, 1834, S. confalonierii Muller, 1933 and S. bousaadensis Dahlgren, 1974. S. gilviqueti sp. n. is described for the specimens from North Africa formerly named buqueti. Characters are described which may help to define natural groups in Saprinus s. str.
