Discussion on Evaluating the Relative Efficiency of Clinical Departments in a Hospital by Data Envelopment Analysis

Objective To evaluate the allocation efficiency of clinical departments of a tertiary general hospital in Xiamen by Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) method to provide the helpful information for managers.Methods Using DEA computation through Excel plan solution module to obtain relative efficiency score of every clinical departments.Results There are 15 effective units in DEA,while others have the problem of insufficient outcome to some degree.Conclusion The tertiary general hospitals should pay great attention to connotation type development based on resources adjustment and the optimized allocation in their own survival and development.
