Purpose To investigate the curative effect of acupuncture and cupping on sunstroke.Methods Four-step acupuncture and cupping therapy was used for 65 sunstroke cases. A routine Western medicine group of 60 cases was set up. The curative effects were evaluated in the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in curative effect between the two groups after 1-3 days' treatment (P 0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture produces the same effect as Western medicine in treating sunstroke (emergency).
