Advances in Evaluation of Right Heart Function Using Echocardiography

Increasing amounts of attention have been given to right heart function over the past several years.This is because the analysis of right heart function can play an important role in evaluating the prognosis of many cardiac diseases.Echocardiography is the most common tool used to assess the structure and function of the heart.Recent advances such as tissue Doppler imaging,speckle tracking technique,and real-time three-dimensional echocardiography are all now used to assess the right heart function.This article reviews the current research on echocardiography techniques and right heart function.
