Total Hip Arthroplasty with Minimally Invasive Through Lateral Oblique Approach

Objective:To introduce a minimally total hip arthroplasty through Lateral oblique approach.Methods:Since Sep 2004,17 cases had been operated with lateral oblique approach.To observe incision lenght,blood loss,left bed for first time,and Harris score.Results:The average incision lenght was 5.7cm,the average blood loss was 117ml,the average left bed for first time was 5 days,and the average Harris score was 92.Conclusion:The advantages of total hip arthroplasty with lateral oblique ap- proach were less incision lenght,less blood loss,less time for functional exercise,and good effect of hip after operation.
