The morphology of bacterial cellulose(BC)produced by acetobacter xylinum 1.1812 under static conditions is observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The crystal structure of BC in dried and wet states is studied by FT-IR,X-ray diffractometry(XRD)and CP/MAS solid-state 13C NMR.The cellulose Iα and crystallinity index of the bacterial cellulose in dried state are very high compared with the other native cellulose such as cotton and Valonia. In wet state, the BC shows no X-ray diffraction and NMR of cellulose I.
