The flow distribution characteristics of reflect-type distributors under the conditions of different air/water two-phase flow rates and different installation angles were investigated experimentally, and the influence principle of two-phase flow rate and installation angle on the performance was obtained. The research results show that, the performance of reflect-type distributor is slightly affected by the installation angle, and is still good when the installation angle is within 0°~15°; as two-phase flow rate increases, the performance of reflect-type distributor becomes better, so the distributor is suitable for air conditioning system with large capacity. According to the theoretical analysis and experimental results, the structure of reflect-type distributor was improved by CFD simulation. The improvement effect was verified experimentally by comparing the performance of the optimized distributor with that of the original one, and the result shows that the performance of the optimized distributor is improved.
