Through micro- alloying, modification and air quenching, which Si, Mn and Cr are taken as the major alloying elements and a small amount of Mo, V, Ti, B and rare earth (RE)are added in also, a bainitic structure having good combination property has been obtained. This low-alloy bainite cast steel has high hardness, toughness and wear resistance, and its production process is simple, the adding quantities of the expensive alloying elements and its production cost are low. If this low-alloy bainite cast steel to making the jaw of ore crusher or the liner of ore mill is used, their service life is 1.5~2.5 times longer than that of the jaw or liner making from high manganese steel; If this low-alloy bainite cast steel to making the ball for ball mill is used, the consumption of low-alloy bainite cast steel ball is 50%~80% lower than that of common forged steel ball or low-chromium cast iron ball, and is equivalent to that of high-chromium cast iron ball; If this low-alloy bainite cast steel to making the pipe for conveying iron ore powder is used, its service life is 1.5~2.5 times longer than that of the pipe making from 16Mn steel. Therefore, The applications of this low-alloy bainite cast steel to ore crusher and ore mill can remarkably increase the operational efficiency of these equipments and decrease the processing cost of ore powder. This paper introduces the composition, structure and properties of the low-alloy bainite cast steel.
