An ultrafast, solid-phase microwave selenization strategy was employed to synthesize cubic/orthorhombic-CoSe 2 homojunction nanoparticles (O/C-CoSe 2 ) in situ within a nitrogen-doped carbon matrix (O/C-CoSe 2 @NC).
