Process Research on Production of Dimethyl Ether by Methanol Dehydration in a Fixed Bed

The processes for producing dimethyl ether from methanol with cation exchange resin as catalyst was investigated.Effects of pressure ,temperature and space velocity on conversion of methanol were studied in a laboratory fixed bed reactor. Optimal conditions for the reaction were obtained. The conversion of methanol could reach more than 65% and dimethyl ether selectivity reached 100% at conditions of space velocity 1.0h-1,pressure 1.6MPa and temperature 150~155℃.
