Objective To investigate the relationship between expression of CD44v6 and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma(CRC).Methods The expression of CD44v6 in 120 CRC cases was detected by Streptavidin-Peroxidase immunohistochemical technique. Results The positive expression rate of CD44v6 in CRC was 31.7%(38/120).The positive expression of CD44v6 in CRC was significantly associated with lymph nodes metastasis and Dukes' stage(P0.05).The positive expression rate of CD44v6 in CRC with lymph nodes metastasis was significantly higher than that without lymph nodes metastasis;the positive expression rate of CD44v6 was gradually increasing when Dukes' stage deeping.CD44v6 expression was correlated to survival time of CRC cases(P0.01).Conclusion CD44v6 expression in CRC is associated with Dukes' stage, lymph nodes metastasis and survival time of CRC cases.CD44v6 is a prognostic factor of CRC probably.
