Synthesis and Bioactivities of 2,3-Dimethoxy-5-Methylphenol

The synthesis and bioactivities of 2,3-dimethoxy-5-methylphenol and its derivatives is described in this paper.The structures were elucidated mainly based on 13CNMR and 1HNMR spectral data.Bioassay results indicated that all compounds exhibited no insecticidal activity against 3-instar larvae of Mythimna separata execept 2,3-dimethoxy-5-methylphenol.All compounds showed high bactericidal Activity against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides,Alternaria brassicae,Botrytis cirerea,Alternaria solani and Pyricularia oryzae.Cav.
