STUDY OF THE CARBONIZED PRODUCT OF FURFURALCOHOL RESIN AS THE ELECTRODE MATERIALS OF LITHIUM ION BATTERIES (II)—THE TESTING OF THE ELECTROCHEMICAL PERFORMANCE OF THE LITHIUM ION CELLS ASSEMBLED WITH THE RESIN CARBON MATERIALS
The furfuralcohol resin was carbonized to make the resin carbon. The electrochemical performance of the lithium ion cells using the resin carbon materials as the electrodes was tested and analyzed. The result indicated that the charge discharge capacities of sample of furfuralcohol resin carbonized at 550 ℃ were lower and the sample was unfit to use as the electrode material of lithium ion battery. Samples treated at the temperature of 620 ℃~1 300 ℃ revealed relatively higher charge discharge capacities, thereinto, the capacity of sample treated at 700 ℃ was at top. There was a stronger effect of carbonization treating temperature on charge discharge capacity irreversibility of resin carbon derived from furfuralcohol resin. The charge discharge capacity irreversibility was decreased with the increase of carbonization temperature. As compared with sample treated at 620 ℃, the irreversibility of samples treated at 700 ℃ and 1 300 ℃ decreased by about 5 % and 19 %, respectively. The results also indicated that the specific surface area of the resin carbon is an important effective factor on the charge discharge capacities of battery. The bigger the specific surface area of the resin carbon, the higher is the capacity of the battery.
