Bimodal porous CaO-P2O5-SiO2 bioglass was prepared via sol-gel method using polyethylene glycol as mesopore-making agent and sucrose as macropore-making agent. The mesopores with ~20nm pore size and macropores with ~100 μm pore size were formed in the monolithics and the pore structure was interconnected. After soaking in simulated body fluid(SBF) at 37℃ for 7 days,a layer of bonelike apatite was formed on the surface of the sample, indicating that such porous CaO-P2O5-SiO2 bioglass possesses good bioactivity in vitro.
