摘要
Lithium polysulfides (Li2Sn, n=4−8) serve as vital intermediates in Li–S batteries. However, the solvation structure of LiPSs in electrolyte remains elusive, especially regarding how LiPSs interact with other electrolyte components and form specific ion−solvent complexes. In their Research Article (e202400343), Bo-Quan Li, Qiang Zhang et al. systematically investigate the specific solvation structure of LiPSs in electrolyte and pioneeringly find that Li salt anions are favored to enter the first solvation sheath of cationic LiPSs and form contact ion pairs, which updates the basic understanding towards the ion–solvent interaction in Li–S batteries.
