PRODUCTION OF POLYVINYL CHLORIDE ADIPINATE PLASTICIZERS

A method for the preparation of complex asymmetric esters of adipic acid using alcohols such as oxytylated butanol, octanol and i-octanol is described. The physicochemical properties of four obtained compounds are given, namely: butylbutoxyethyl adipate, octylbutoxyethyl adipate, i-butylbutoxyethyl adipate, i-octylbutoxyethyl adipate.The developed plasticizers were tested as PVC plasticizers in the basic formulation. It is shown that the developed adipinate plasticizers provide a high level of properties of PVC compound: improve physical and mechanical properties, namely: provide higher thermal stability, color stability and relative elongation.
