Abstract: Heterocyclic chemistry is essential in drug development, with 2-amino-benzothiazole derivatives emerging as promising candidates for combating microbial infections. This review thoroughly investigates the antimicrobial properties of these compounds while discussing their synthesis methods and potential applications. It begins by outlining the chemical structure and synthesis techniques, laying a strong foundation for understanding their characteristics. The review then examines the antimicrobial activity of 2-amino benzothiazole derivatives, which are effective against various bacteria, including drug-resistant strains of fungi and Klebsiella pneumonia, S. aureus, E. coli, and P. aeruginosa. The mechanisms by which these compounds inhibit microbial proliferation are explained, demonstrating their ability to hinder the survival of harmful microorganisms. Furthermore, the review emphasizes the versatility of these derivatives across diverse fields, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and industry. Their compatibility with other antimicrobial agents and effectiveness against multidrug-resistant pathogens render them valuable tools in tackling infectious diseases.
