Abstract Procedures yielding 2‐(2,4‐difluorophenyl)‐5‐(trifluoromethyl)pyridine, (dF(CF 3 )ppy) ( 3 ) as a pink‐white solid, [(dF(CF 3 )ppy) 2 ‐Ir‐μ‐Cl] 2 complex and [Ir{dF(CF 3 )ppy} 2 (bpy)]PF 6 ( 4 ) as bright yellow solids, and [Ir{dF(CF 3 )ppy} 2 (dtbbpy)]PF 6 ( 5 ) as a yellow solid are presented. Following the procedure are notes on the instruments and chemicals used and required. The chapter concludes with a discussion on photoredox catalysts in cross‐coupling reactions and bond‐forming transformation.
