To solve the problems about long-time shutdown of furnace for repair and high processing cost in the process for producing refined cadmium from zinc-cadmium alloy,sodium nitrate is added during removal of zinc using chemical method,so that zinc in the zinc-cadmium alloy can be reduced to 0.001% and the refined cadmium can be produced without re-distillation
