Study on Surface Chemical Stability of Ion-Exchange Strengthened Glass

Surface chemical stability of ion exchange strengthened glass and the chemical strengthened glass treated by some salt solutions were studied.The weight loss,amount of R_2O leached out and SiO_2 dissolved from the Na_2O-CaO-SiO_2 system glass eroded by H_2O and alkali solution were measured.The results show that the glass surface chemical stability decreased after pure KNO_3 treatment.However if the chemical strengthened glass was treated by some proper salt solutions,its water resistance and alkali resistance were increased.A method was proposed to improve the chemical stability of ion exchange strengthened glass and to expand its application.
