The hydrolysis rate of urea in soli is controlled by many factors such as urease activity, pH value, temperature, moisture, texture of soil and startup urea concentration,especially the most impotant urease. Some technical practices are summed up on controlling hydrlolysis of urea from urease inhibitor, nitrification inhibitor, coated urea and film technology. Several main methods for improving utilization efficiency of ureaN, including new urease inhibitor, slowrelease urea and coapplication of urea plus other fertilizes are discussed.
