摘要
The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic created a need for family-owned small businesses (F-OSBs) to adopt artificial intelligence capabilities (AICs), orchestrate resources for innovation activities, and attain digital innovation performance (DIP). Therefore, this study investigated the link between AIC, fintech usage and technology turbulence with DIP. This study examined the underlying mechanism of resource orchestration between AIC and DIP. Moreover, it investigated the moderating mechanisms of fintech usage between AIC and resource orchestration, and the moderating mechanism of technology turbulence between resource orchestration and DIP in F-OSBs. The research gathered primary data from 278 descendant entrepreneurs serving as chairpersons or managing directors in F-OSBs. The data were analysed using the partial least squares structural equation modelling technique. This study found that AIC and technology turbulence were positively associated with DIP. However, fintech usage did not show a direct relationship with DIP. Resource orchestration mediated the AIC–DIP relationship. Fintech usage positively moderated the relationship between AIC and resource orchestration, while technology turbulence negatively moderated the relationship between resource orchestration and DIP in F-OSBs. This study, rooted in dynamic theory, provided insights and empirical evidence. By investigating the mediating role of resource orchestration and the boundary conditions of fintech usage and technology turbulence between AIC and DIP in F-OSBs, this study offers knowledge to the field of family business.
