Fragrant microcapsules with polyurethane as the wall material and lavender oil as the core were prepared by polycondensing polyurethane prepolymer and poly(ethylene glycol) 400 at the oil-water interface.Influence factors on microcapsule properties such as the morphology, radii and fragrance slow release capacity were studied. Results indicate that microcapsules with superior performance should be prepared with 1∶10 oil-water ratio, sodium alginate as the disperse agent, and glycerol as the crosslink agent. The 0.2 mg essence can still be reserved on one gram of finished cotton fabric after being used for half a year.
