Dyeing of silk with natural gardenia yellow

The dyeing performance of natural gardenia yellow on silk was studied.Direct dyeing and mordant dyeing were used under various conditions,and an optimal dyeing process was obtained through orthogonal.It was shown that gardenia yellow could be used for direct dyeing of silk with good exaltation properties.The dye amt.was the most important factor.Post-mordant dyeing was suitable when mordant dyeing was used with gardenia yellow.The fabrics dyed with post-mordant dyeing and direct dyeing had no obvious difference.All the fastnesses were over grade 4 excepting the sunlight fastness(≤3).
