Treatment and complications of ureter stone with ureteroscopy and pneumatic lithotripty

[Objective] To summarize the complication of ureter stone with ureteroscopy and pneumatic lithotripty as well as their managements. [Methods] 131 patients of ureter stone undergone ureteroscopy and pneumatic lithotripty, the intraoperative and postoperative complications as well as their managements were analyzed. [Results] 82.3%(109/131) stones were fragmented in one treatment session. 22 cases ureteroscopy operation were failure, of 5 cases ureteroscopy did not enter ureter lumen, 4 cases ureteroscopy did not get close to stone because of serious curved ureter, 2 cases of ureter perforation, 11 cases stone moved up to renal pelvis. 7 cases underwent open operation, 3 case treated in Chinese crude drug, and 12 case underwent ESWL in above cases. Ureteral perforation occurred in 5 cases, of whom 2 cases underwent open operation and 3 case indwelling double J tubes without open operation. Urinary tract infection occurred in 7 cases, but recovery was achieved after administrating antibiotics. [Conclusions] Treatment of ureter stone with the method has been safe, effective and less serious complications, which mostly may get expectant treatment.
