[Objective]To explore the protective effect of puerarin injection on rats injured by adriamycin.[Methods]60 rats selected were divided into 5 groups:adriamycin model group treated by adriamycin(2.5mg/kg,once a week)with intraperitoneal injection;control group treated by normal saline(the same way to the model group),low, middle, high dose of puerarin injection group treated by puerarin injection(15mg/kg,30mg/kg,60mg/kg,respectively,once a day)with intraperitoneal injection. At the end of tenth week, hemodynamic and echocardiographic measurements were obtained,MDA concentrations and the activities of SOD in myocardial tissues were evaluated, respectively.[Results]Compared with control group, the cardiac function and the activities of SOD in ADM group decreased obviously(P0.01),and the concentration of MDA increased obviously(P0.01);compared with ADM group, the cardiac function and the activities of SOD in low, middle and high dose of puerarin injection group increased obviously(P0.01),and the concentration of MDA decrease obviously(P0.01).[Conclusion]Puerarin injection can protect the rats' myocardium injured by adriamycin, the protection may be related with antioxidation.
