Due to the increasing costs of components and the complexity of controlling the production of PV systems on the one hand, and the quality of the energy produced and the connection to the grid on the other. This work describes how the optimal operation and cost minimization of a grid-connected PV system via the single-stage structure (without a DC-DC converter) can be achieved. Through the development of control algorithms, the extraction of the maximum power from the solar panel has been achieved by fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC). The main development of this proposed technique is to combine the advantages of fuzzy logic and sliding mode in an algorithm that directly controls the inverter to track the maximum power point and to keep good control of the voltage Vmp used as a reference voltage at the input of the inverter control (VOC) for maximum power point extraction and to properly control their switches. Therefore, the latter acts on the voltage and current shapes of the system and allows decreasing the harmonic distortion rate. These current and voltage shapes facilitate the design of a less complex filter, in order to obtain a well-controlled active and reactive power with reduced cost. The simulation results are obtained in the MATLAB-Simulink environment.
