摘要
ABSTRACT Background Integrins are a class of membrane protein that exists widely on the cell surface. Their primary function is to mediate connections between the extracellular matrix and cytoskeleton. Integrin plays vital roles in numerous physiological and pathological processes, including the occurrence and development of diseases such as tumors and inflammation. Within the field of stomatology, integrins are also actively studied molecules. Research indicates that specific integrins play essential roles in oral diseases including oral mucositis, periodontitis, and oral cancer. Methods This review involves a comprehensive search of the Web of Science and PubMed. Results This review synthesizes current research on integrins in oral squamous cell carcinoma, oral submucous fibrosis, oral pemphigoid, oral mucositis, periodontal disease, and peri‐implantitis. Conclusions This review provides a systematic summary of the roles of integrins in oral biology and disease pathogenesis, helping to reduce barriers in integrin research and offering some theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of oral diseases.
