M2 beam-quality meter for pulsed lasers

Laser beam quality measurements have become important diagnostics for laser operation and beam propagation. A commercial instrument, based on the M2 method of defining beam quality, 1 has been developed for CW lasers. 2 We have constructed and tested an equivalent instrument for measuring the beam quality of a single shot of a pulsed laser.
